A couple of theories concerning Stanley Coleman.

1: Stanley, Alessa's Pawn.

The first time we hear of Stanley Coleman is the chart that shows why he's in the hospital. Which is for harboring an obsession over a woman. Soon we find out that this woman is Heather.

Stanley starts to leave his diary in certain locations and along with that a doll that resembles Alessa, only the doll is in a red dress.

Here are Stanley's diary entries.

STANLEY COLEMAN'S DIARY: 1

This day has finally come.
That's right --- the day when you and I will meet.

I was always thinking of you, here in this gloomy cell.
I never even knew your name or face until today.

But now I know. I know you're the one I've
been waiting for.

Thats why you came to rescue me.

I want to give you my prized doll, I made it to
commemorate our meeting,
the start of this everlasting love.

I do think he's a good person otherwise
though --- easy to deal with.

That indicates that Stanley Coleman had been killed by Leonard outside of the hospital. The Stanley that Heather is "meeting" is a poltergeist, or a phantom. Who's controlling him?

Alessa is, or rather the Memory of Alessa that clings to the place. The Memory of Alessa's main goal is to free Heather from the grips of having to birth the God. The only way she knows how to do that is to kill Heather. Before the hospital Alessa uses certain monsters to try and kill Heather.

In the hospital Alessa uses this man Stanley Coleman to try and lure Heather and kill her.

Going back to the first theory, Alessa is essentially controlling this man. Her hope is that Heather will want to meet Stanley, and when she does he'll kill her. This would allow Heather to be from the cult for awhile.*

*(I say awhile, because as indicated I do think Alessa and then consequently Heather is the Yellow God.)

Theory #2: Stanley was the man who offered the Serpent.

Firstly there's a few Stanley/Heather and Stanley/Alessa fans. A certain fan pointed out that Stanley could very well be the reincarnation of the man who offered the serpent to the sun. From there I made this theory.

Part 1
In Silent Hill 3 when Heather reaches the church she has the option to view the paintings telling about the God's first incarnation. The second painting titled Birth shows a man and a woman on top of a rock. The man is shown holding a serpant to the sky while standing up, and the serpent is cloaked in red. The woman is shown sitting next to the man's feet and holding a reed. The caption of the painting reads.

"A man offered a serpant to the sun and prayed for Salvation. The woman offered a reed to the sun and asked for joy. Feeling pity for the sadness that had overrun the earth God was born from these two people."

Now The Order seems to have interpreted this to mean that the Holy Vessle must be tormented so that the God can be born of hate. However this next part will put the origin of God into a new perspective.

In certain tribes of South America the man would take his erection and offer it sexually to the God. This act was known as "offering the serpant to the sun and the sky." The woman would do the same thing and this was known as "offering the fruit or grain." The man and woman would then make love offering their joy and orgasms to the God.

Now let us take another look at the painting from that perspective. Offering themselves sexually to the sun, the man and woman made love. Aware that the humans needed joy and salvation God was born from these two people. (literally)

A look at the first incarnation of God proves that she was loving merciful God. The things she did and gave to the humans were as follows.

1. She gave them death; remember that the humans had nothing but hate, were constantly fighting but could never die. They were stuck in the eternal
2. She gave the people joy, and outlined the road to salvation.
3. She set out to create paradise where people would be happy just by being there.

This is proof that the first incarnate of God was a God of love, and mercy. The reason she's like this is because she was born from love, and not hate like the Order keeps trying to do. There is more about this theory though, and it relates to the serpant as mythological symbol. The serpant is a symbol for energy, creativity, and rebirth. It has been worshipped by many for it's ability to literally shed it's skin becoming free of any infestations and wounds it had.

In myth-lore too the Serpant and the Moon have the ability to rebirth themselves. The moon is known as the Holy Mother while the serpant is known as the Divine Father. When we look at the Silent Hill characters we will notice that Alessa share's traits with serpant. She has the ability to rebirth herself thus shedding away her old skin. Alessa, however cannot be the serpant in SH myth. She can never be the divine father, and besides in certain paintings Alessa is seen with a moon behind her.

It seems that Alessa was the first vessle for God, she is the Moon and the holy Mother. Could it also be that God created her into Lobsel Vith?

The theory for who the divine father in the Silent Hill universe is abit more unknown. Simply put we will have to wait in future SH game to see if any of the men are reborn. Chances are Stanley Coleman could be the Divine Father given his obsession with the Holy Vessle and his need to kill them both in SH3 so they can be reborn and start anew.

Part 2

This next part is a theory on why Stanley Coleman could be the man who offered the serpent. First of all the doll he leaves for Heather looks exactly Alessa. This is an indication that Stanley is talking about Alessa and not Heather in his Diary.

In his journals he often refers to Heather as his Goddess and Savior. To him she is the one that will free him, but there's something else. Stanley also views himself as Heather's savior. His ultimate goal is to kill Heather and himself so the birth of God will be put on Hiatus.

Most perplexing is that Stanley makes several indications that he's known Alessa.
